Get ready for Summer Lovin’, Greased Lightnin’ and all the fun of Rydell High as Curves in Kiama hosts its third annual Girls Nite In.
Aiming to raise funds for the Cancer Council, the 2008 Girls Nite will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the film Grease and embrace the dancing, fashion and music of the 1950s.
After the success of last year’s event and Curves Kiama’s reputation as the top fundraising club in Australia, Curves owner Charmaine Wheatley said this year’s program had raised the bar and was set to be very exciting.
Event patrons will get the chance to bid for exclusive prizes in the auction, including a guitar signed by the members of INXS, music memorabilia from Madonna, Kylie Minogue and Robbie Williams and a canoe ride down the Minamurra River complete with champagne, strawberries and cheese.
Kiama business Desire Lingerie and Swimwear will present a “glamorous and daring” fashion show featuring the latest lingerie and swimwear for the warmer weather.
In the spirit of the evening, dance schools from throughout the region will compete in a dance-off and prizes will be awarded for best dancers.
One of the highlights of the event is the annual man auction, where women can bid to spend the day with a hunky man. There will be many well-known local faces who are sure to have women bidding like crazy.
Hosted by Miss World Illawarra Laura Thompson and local celebrities Mick Cook and Dirty Al, this year’s event promises to be fun-filled.
Tickets are $35, which entitles patrons to finger food and a free glass of champagne.
The 2008 Girls Nite In will be held on Saturday from 7.30pm at Curves Kiama.
