CHILDREN likely to be captivated by stories of surfing pigs, exploding pimples and nuclear destruction should attend Kiama Library's upcoming book launch.
The special event on Saturday at 10am will launch two new books by Wollongong children's author DC Green.
The event is free and will be held just in time for the school holidays.
The two books are aimed at different age groups. The first is Three Little Surfer Pigs, a rhyming picture book aimed at six year olds and up.
The other is the post-apocalyptic, action packed adventure Stinky Squad, written for those aged 10 and above.
Green, a former surfing journalist, published his first children's book, Erasmus James and the Galactic Zapp Machine, two years ago.
Mr Green's unique sense of humour and performance style has proven popular with Kiama's children.
Kiama Librarian Michelle Hudson said all of the events in the kids' program were well attended.
"He has visited before and he's really good with the kids and very funny; they have a great time," she said.
Both books will be available for purchase on the day.
