Famous photo in battle of Jamberoo

A PHOTOGRAPH of rural Jamberoo taken by one of Australias most well-known photographers will be raffled to raise money for local action group JROOs fighting fund in its battle to stop a large-scale housing development being built in the village.
The? Max Dupain image has been donated to the group by his long-time assistant and beneficiary of his exhibition archive, Jill White, who is based in Sydney.
A frequent visitor to Jamberoo, Ms White donated the print after hearing of the groups cause.
The photo was taken by Mr Dupain in 1940 during one of his visits to the South Coast.
Raffle tickets are $5 each or five for $20 and can be purchased from Jamberoo Antiques, 10 Allowrie Street or from Shop 5/18 Allowrie Street, Jamberoo.
