ANOTHER National Rugby League squad visited Kiama earlier this week.
Following a visit by the Cronulla Sharks, the Parramatta Eels spent two days in Kiama preparing for their trial match against the Sydney Roosters on the Central Coast this weekend.
On Tuesday, the Eels first grade squad completed a training session at Kiama Leisure Centre, before enjoying an afternoon at East Beach.
Head coach Michael Hagan said the team hadn’t ventured to Kiama in about five years.
“It’s a nice part of the world and a good atmosphere though; it’s good to get away from the normal routine and be somewhere that’s out of harm’s way a bit,” he said.
One player who made the trek was Shellharbour junior Josh Cordoba.
Cordoba last played in Kiama six years ago and said he was always pleased to be back.
“It’s where my heart is: I grew up on the coast,” he said.
