With just one run remaining in the inaugural Jamberoo Joggers’ 20-week competition, only one point separates the competition leaders.

Kate Harris holds the slightest of leads over Allyson Weston in the standings. Next closest is Josh Alexander on 25 points, but he, like all the other runners, is no longer in contention.

Naomi Pool won Saturday’s four-kilometre run followed by John Maslanka, Leonie Shepstone, David Brown and Kate Harris.

It is interesting to note that the first three runners were all competing for only their second week and that each improved considerably over their previous times.

Josh Bridger blitzed the 2.5-kilometre run to improve his best time by almost four minutes. Other bonus point winners were Toby Behl-Shanks, Tamara Weston, Annie Hawes and Ella Harris.

Toby Behl-Shanks has secured the championship over the shorter distance with 55 points followed by Tamara Weston on 46 and Ella Harris on 34 points.

For the summer months, the fun runs are being held at 5.30pm each Saturday at the Kevin Walsh Oval and everyone, irrespective of age, fitness or ability, is most welcome.
