Have the St George Illawarra Dragons got what it takes to go all the way in the 2010 rugby league season?

Developers fall out of line

Developers fall out of line

Section: Opinion

Why is it that developers who know the height restrictions set by the councils (due to public concerns and wishes) submit plans that do not fall within the very clear guidelines?

Is it because they are not intelligent enough to understand that communities do not want high-rise buildings?

Is it because they are purely trying to make a profit – yet try to justify themselves by mentioning “needs” of the community that may or may not be true?

Whatever their motive, they are not only not in line with what the community wants, but they are also “illegal” in the sense that they do not even attempt to meet the guidelines set out by the council and show complete contempt towards development structures that are in place. – John Stovin-Bradford

Gerringong

The Gerringing business district has been a planning shambles for years. The Greens and their fellow travellers have no idea how to plan a town center and the result is a geographically dysfunctional landscape that is yet another example of why the Greens should have nothing to do with planning anything beyond the veggie patch in their own backyard. After stuffing up the Gerringong town center they next decided they would be experts at building a housing estate. The result is there for all to see in Elambra - with its crappy narrow roads, mismatching footpaths, small blocks, no toilet in the park, no completed bike path to Gerroa and overpriced blocks that won't see any capital gain for a decade or more. So please don't lecture anyone about how grand the Green inspired LEP is for Kiama and the rest of the failed town planning that underscores the ignorance of the Kiama Greens and their hero Sandra.
