KIAMA Council staff will again host a Biggest Morning Tea on May 22 and have encouraged other businesses to join the fundraising initiative.

Council spokeswoman Susan Rigby said the staff had held the fundraiser for the Cancer Council for the past few years and usually raised between $200 and $300.

“What we do is all bring in a plate and have a donation box and people give a donation and have a cuppa and it’s all for a worthy cause,” Ms Rigby said.

“We would encourage other business organisations to do the same because they would be surprised how much money they can raise.”

The Cancer Council launched its Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea campaign last week under the wings of a Lockheed Super Constellation (better known as Connie) plane at the Albion Park Historical Flying Museum.
