Mother of two Donna Waters is angry after a gang of youths allegedly damaged her Christmas decorations.

Christmas has got off to an unhappy start for a Kiama Downs family after youths destroyed decorations outside the family home on Saturday night.

The reindeer-shaped lights were placed in the front garden by Donna Waters and two young daughters, aged eight and three, as part of the familys six-year Christmas tradition.

I was just sitting there watching the footy at about 10:30pm when I noticed the powerboard I had inside jumping around.

I went out and saw the group of young kids in the garden dismantling the reindeer, she said.

When asked what they were doing they were rude and abusive as they took off down the street. They had totally trashed the reindeer by pulling out all the wires.

They had to climb up into the garden to get it so it wasnt just a spur of the moment thing.

One had a plaster cast on his arm. I wonder if the parents are going to make them pay for what they have done.

Mrs Waters said both her girls were upset by the destruction.

Why would these kids wreck something that makes kids happy thats the only reason I put them up to make the kids happy.

I am on a single parent wage and I cant afford a lot but I do it to let the kids know its Christmas and because they enjoy it so much.

These people dont think about their actions I dont think they are concerned about all the hard work and the fact that they upset a pair of eight and three-year-old girls.
