Pam Ford ready to tee off at Gerringong recently. Pam along with Lola Scott (right) and Viv Tanner will represent NSW at the ANZ Masters Classic on the Gold Coast in February. Gerringong Ladies Captain Wendy Cutting (left) was responsible for putting the team together.

LOLA Scott, Viv Tanner and Pam Ford are certainly the envy of the rest of the members of Gerringong Golf Club.

The trio combined last Monday to be crowned champions of the 3BBB Ladies Team Classic final at Glenmore Heritage Valley golf course at the base of the Blue Mountains.

Winning with a score of plus 10, they are the first team from Gerringong to win the coveted title and in doing so became the first winners from a country area to win the championship since 1998.

Gerringong Ladies Captain Wendy Cutting was also at the event acting as a marker for the Kograh side who finished second, narrowly missing the win on a count back.

Lola, the President of the Gerringong Ladies Club, recalls the win that was achieved in difficult

conditions.

It was just really exciting to win after winning the district event earlier in the year, she said.

Not a bad season considering they were brought together by chance after failing to nominate for their club event.

We really did play some outstanding golf. When we hadnt put out names down Wendy called and she said I have a good feeling about this team, added Lola.

The group initially sat near the presentation dais selecting what colour golf bags they would like to take home, thoughts of which were quickly laid to rest after it was announced they will now represent NSW at the ANZ Ladies Masters Classic on the Gold Coast in February.

" Gold Medal winner Margaret Copley.

In other golfing news Margaret Copley recently took out the gold medal at Gerringong the day after missing out by just one shot at the Shoalhaven course.

Her score of 83 net was enough to capture her second gold medal, her last being 17 years earlier.
