GERRINGONG Lions Coach Alan Miller is insisting his players be ready for the big challenge ahead, when the Lions take on the undefeated Albion Park-Oak Flats Eagles at Centenary Field this weekend.
Pleased with his sides 32-24 win over, previously second placed, Nowra, Miller looks to this weeks game.
It was a pleasing effort and we played consistent football.
The Nowra games was a big challenge for us but we now have to double up against Park.
Theyve had some tough wins and we have to do what no one has done all year and keep the consistency going. added Miller.
Albion Park coach Shane Sainsbury remains wary of the underrated Lions and is not pleased with the way his team are playing.
Its good to keep winning but we arent playing too well at the moment. he said.
One minute Gerringong are playing okay and the next they are struggling. he said.
They always seem to lift for us and they dont make many mistakes.
They dont have any stars, they just keep plodding along and are there at the right time. he added.
The Warriors game also saw second rower Dave Cummins notch up his 100th for the Lions, in what is a great achievement at a club with a proud history.
Kiama have been strengthened by the return of Daniel Ziggy Gunning.
Gunning played reserve grade and come off the bench in first grade giving the Knights much needed inspiration, going into their match against Berry this weekend.
