In T-Ball games, the whole Braves team had a strong day at bat with great base running, crossing for 18 runs against Cardinals Gold.

There were also a lot of good plays in the field by the team also, with Callum Faulkner taking a difficult catch at shortstop.

Everyone displayed great teamwork again this week. Next week they will play the Pirates.

Jasper Baumann was strong at first base, stopping many throws, and Cheyanne Wenham did a good job at pitcher.

In Zooka, the Under 10s Kiama Braves played against a much bigger Dapto Chiefs outfit.

All played well and Calis Woodorth, Cloe Avery and Penny Hass led the way with the bat with three safe hits each.

Lauren Hughes, Lachlan McLeod and Caitlin Lancuba all had their first turn in the catcher’s position. All played well, with each gloving a fair few balls that the batters missed.

In the Under 12s Little League, Kiama lost to the Chiefs 11-5. Catchers Jason Skinner and Brodie Hooper did a great job behind the plate and the pitchers performed well.

The whole team batted strongly, hitting pitched balls and not waiting for pop-ups.

This will enable the team to win a lot of games in the future.

In the Under 14s, after a shaky start by opening pitcher Luke Brown, the Braves were right in the contest but despite a strong start to the fifth they couldn’t contain the Cards who put another two runs on the board and sealed the game 5-4.

In the Under 16s Blues, Jacob Dunstan was great at catcher and Tim O’Donnell did an exceptional job restricting the Pirates batters.

Under 14s players Brittany Scott, Madison Lenard and Luke Brown all scored for the Braves, with Madison hitting a great left field hit and playing strongly in the field.

Despite good teamwork by the Braves, the Pirates took out the game.

The Under 16s Red team went down to Western Suburbs Cardinals in the final innings of the match.

It was evenly balanced at 1-all until the fatal final innings.

All the Braves acquitted themselves well.

Starting pitcher Luke Young gave the team a great start.

Luke pitched the first three innings and contained the strong Cardinals line-up to one run on three hits and one walk while striking out four batters.

Hayden Massey came on as middle relief and struck out two batters.

Newcomer Dana Burk entered the game as closer performed well for her first outing and shortstop Keiran Hayes was the pick of the fielders making three great plays in the infield.

Jacob McGuinness scored the Braves sole run in the bottom of the second.
