KIAMA JUNIOR RUGBY CLUB

KIAMA Junior Rugby travelled to play Camden, Wollondilly and Tech on the weekend with a number of strong results.

The under 8s were impressive against Camden and continued their strong form with a win.

Kiama's under 10s played their first game in weeks and showed that the break did them no harm, winning 53-7 against Camden.

Every time Camden had the ball there were two or three Kiama players tackling with the others driving the rucks and mauls downfield.

Jai Field, Lachlan Farrell, Beau Doosey and Kane Dorahy kept the Camden boys guessing with great runs from the rucks, while Jaya Crowie , Jack Smith , Dean Wishart , Guy Walker and Elijah Crowe drove the rucks all day .

Nobody got past Dane Edwards and Joel Wheatley who were solid in defence.

Hamish Blackmore showed the skills he learnt in New Zealand and added to the polished team display.

Jack, Dean, Jai, Lachlan and Beau scored tries and Jack, Dane, Beau and Hamish potted conversions.

Kiama's under 11s never looked troubled in scoring a 32-7 win over Wollondilly. Curtis Patton, Jordan Griffin, Jack North, Jack Schneider and Luke Asquith scored tries with Matthew Panecasio adding a goal.

The under 12s played a Tech Tahs side that tried hard all day but were outclassed as Kiama continued their great form with a high-scoring win.

The under 14s match against Camden was a see-sawing affair with play moving from end to end.

Unfortunately for Kiama the game was called off early due to an injury when they were trailing 10-7 after a try to Brad Lisle and a goal to Paul Asquith.

Kiama's under 16s didn't do themselves justice in a 18-10 loss to Camden. The forwards battle was willing, with Kiama winning the set pieces but Camden were stronger at the breakdown.

Camden dominated territory for most of the game and defended well when Kiama looked to break out.

A converted try in extra time in the first half essentially was the difference and proved the competition is up for grabs if Kiama play their best.

Pat Morton was Kiama's best player with good support from the other forwards Jeshua Smith, Jordan Mitchell, Nic Quinn, Adam Skorulis, Aaron Vann, James Siggee, Mitch Clarke, Jobe Wilson, and Ethan McIntosh.

Mark Asquith, Tom Ormsby, James Asquith, Michael Brunt, Chris Sinclair, Matt Gladman, Khan Watts and Nathan Trindall threatened at times in the backline.
