Polish up your exhaust tips, black your tyres and chammy off your duco – the EJ-EH Holden Owners Club of Southern NSW is hosting its 11th Annual Show ‘n’ Shine at Black Beach, Kiama, this Sunday (October 5).
Club member Lync Luby said this year promised to be the best yet, with more than 150 cars anticipated to be on display.
“We’ve got cars coming from Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney and Queensland, as well as a lot of local cars,” Mr Luby said.
“A lot of the cars haven’t been seen here before, so it should be a really exciting show for everyone.”
Mr Luby’s car – his grandfather’s 1963 EH wagon (complete with polished truck supercharger and NOS booster) will be there, as well as fellow club member Andrew Draper’s 1964 EH sedan, which sports a small block Chevy engine that puts out 400+ bhp at the flywheel.
The show is not just for early Holdens, says Mr Luby.
“There will be a host of different of cars on show across 45 different categories,” he said.
Forty of these will be peer judged and then the four major sponsors – LCW, ProBag, Danics Tyres and Retro Whitewall Tyres – will each judge the four Sponsors’ Car of the Day awards. There will also be an overall winner for the day.
It costs $25 on the day to enter your car in the Show ‘n’ Shine. Entry for the public is by gold coin donation.
Proceeds this year will go to the Beacon Foundation School Industry Partnership Inc – a not-for-profit organisation working with local schools to support school leavers avoid the dole.
