TWO Sydney-based developers have shown interest in the site that may become Kiamas second petrol station.
Real Estate principal Warren Steel confirmed late last week that contracts had been received by the two separate parties.
Ones looking at putting a petrol station and five shops on the site, the other is looking at making it a 24-hour petrol station, said Mr Steel.
Ill now be giving them a few days to look over the contract and then getting in touch with them, he said.
Mr Steel has long been a supporter of a second service station opening in Kiama.
Its the site, its proximity to the highway thats attractive to them.
The 2054sqm site on South Kiama Drive has been vacant since Mobil closed down its service station several years ago.
The site has sat idle until May this year when the petrol giant named Mr Steel as the selling agent for the site.
Whilst its not likely it will reopen as a Mobil service station, certainly were doing what we can to facilitate some other operator reopening it for that purpose, said Mobil spokesman Alan Bailey.
The site is believed to be worth between $600,000 and $700,000.
