A golden effort from Kiama’s 10Bs

THE UNDERMANNED Russell McLelland Brown Lawyers under 10B Gold side put in a terrific effort to defeat Albion Park this week.
Kiama were missing five players but managed to out score Albion Park 4/125 to 7/107.
Man of the match Che Stubbs and Joshua Spain put on an unbeaten partnership of 28 runs to lead Kiama’s batting effort.
Joe Dempsey, Braedon Barker and Owen Sutherland put in great bowling performances, while Matt Brockman and Joshua Spain affected run outs.
Meanwhile, the Kiama Rugby Club-sponsored 10B Blues sustained a narrow loss against The Rail.
The Rail batted first and scored a respectable 3/145 including 17 bonus runs.
Kiama’s best bowlers were Charlie Menzies (1/9), Flynn Parker and Tas Fredericks (both 1/14).
Kiama batted well to reach 11/142 (including 11 bonus runs) but it wasn’t enough to win.
Callum Porter top scored with 14 while James Balding, Nathan Brownlow and Bailey Chaplin scored 11 each.

Kiama’s Greg Rodgers and Associates-sponsored 12As scored a narrow win over Albion Park.
The Cavs dismissed Albion Park for 61, with Adam Stojanovic (3/2) the pick of the bowlers, while John Wilkinson snared 2/8 and Jake Ashley took two catches.
Adam also hit 17 to top score as the Cavs reached 4/65.
The C & D Wickham 14As recorded a 22-run loss to Keira after some missed chances in the field.
Keira batted first and scored 3/142 from their 30 overs but Jono Lukian (0-7 off five overs) was unlucky not to pick up any wickets.
Mitchell Conley bagged 2/12.Kiama were off to poor start at 1-3 but Mitchell Conley (27 not out) carried his bat as the Cavs finished at 4/120.
Lukian (15), Mark Mura (10 not out) and Mitchell Watkins (35, including two 6s and two 4s) also batted well for Kiama.
Meanwhile, the Kiama Rugby Club-sponsored 14Bs lost to Jamberoo at Albion Oval.
Jamberoo resumed their innings on day two before finishing at 262 before the Cavs replied with 8/104.
Missed chances proved costly for the K & R Fabrication-sponsored 16As against Lake Illawarra at Bonaira Reserve.
Lake resumed at 2/37 in reply to Kiama’s first innings total of 87, but were able to score 109.
Kiama dropped several potential catches and botched a couple of run out attempts.
